History
This History of Ancient
Union Lodge No. 203 has been written not only to commemorate the
Bi-Centenary Festival, but to honour all those members present,
and more especially past, who without their loyalty to
Freemasonry in general or to the Lodge in particular would not
have been possible.
Ancient Union Lodge No 203 has always continued the promotion of
fellowship within and without the meetings, has tried to respond
to charity and benevolence, and has handed down the true spirit
of Freemasonry from generation to generation.
The future of our Lodge must rest in the hands of the younger
members who will proudly take the burden of carrying on the
traditions of Freemasonry as amply handed down to them. This
history will show them the examples of achievements they will
have to strive to emulate and in some cases to surpass, and keep
this Lodge in existence well into the future.
The information compiled to make this History of Ancient Union
Lodge has in the main been taken from the Lodge records, which
include the Minute Books, Registration book, Lodge Registers, and
various documents of interest to the Lodge.
